Project Update: Elkhorn Ranch

Updated: 2 days ago

This project has been approved for federal funding!

This does not mean the project is complete, however. We are working with the landowner to protect their vision for the future of their property. Conservation easements are permanent protections, and we must be careful to have a complete understanding of the landowner’s operations and goals as well as the property and its important community values.

When completed, this project will serve as a shining example of land conservation as a tool to protect our agricultural resources and heritage for centuries to come. Located along a major road in the valley and protecting a stretch of the Blacksmith Fork River, this project will protect a large swath of open space, surrounded by four developing cities.

We look forward to the day we complete this project!

Our mission is to preserve the benefits of land and water in Northern Utah and the Bear River Watershed for present and future generations. We do this by partnering with communities and landowners to permanently sustain the heritage of working lands and protect natural areas.

Let's stay connected.
