A Call to Board Service

Bear River Land Conservancy has matured and grown over the past five years. We have full time staff, multiple projects in progress, and have applied for national Land Trust Accreditation (currently pending approval). We are currently seeking visionaries who care deeply about open space, local food and fiber, and wildlife habitat. Our board governs our policies and oversees the work of our Executive Director, and we expect 2 - 4 hours of service per month from our board members.

Specifically, we are hoping to recruit board members with experience in:

  • Banking, wealth management, or finance - We would like to make better in-roads with local banks and financial institutions, many of whom are funding land development projects. We want to enlist these financiers as partners in our work, cooperating to create and preserve the type of landscapes which give our communities their sense of place.

  • Environmental or bioregional planning - Many of our current projects-in-progress are focused on addressing wildlife migration and regional watershed health. We are seeking a board member with the vision to help guide our work at this regional scale, focusing on the Bear River watershed as a whole.

  • Nonprofit fundraising and community networking - We have been steadily working to increase BRLC's profile and connections throughout the watershed. Our annual events have gained traction and prestige, and we are looking for a board member well versed in community outreach, strategic partnerships, and donor fundraising who is willing to lead our board in fundraising initiatives.

If any of these specialties call to you, or you know of someone who may be a good fit, please reach out to us at BRLC@BearRiverLandConservancy.org or use the contact form below.
